Housing Establishment Fund

The Housing Establishment Fund (HEF) provides a grant to people experiencing housing difficulties. HEF is distributed in accordance with the guidelines provided by the funding body, the Office of Housing. The distribution of HEF is coordinated across the region by NEHS.

Subject to eligibility and availability of funds, HEF is available to assist with:

  • Setting up a new rental property
  • Rental arrears
  • Removalist costs
  • Storage costs or white goods.

 

Access to HEF

Clients are able to access HEF subject to eligibility at all NEHS locations on an appointment only basis or with a NEHS partner HSS agency that is closest to them. Central records are maintained to ensure that this limited resource is fairly distributed.
